Our Assessment for your child

Our diagnostic assessment consists of:

  • A highly qualified, experienced Multi-Disciplinary Team (Clinical Psychologist and Speech and Language Therapist) with you throughout the whole assessment
  • Initial telephone discussion with key clinician, who will then become your allocated Key Person to support you during the diagnostic process and be your main contact throughout
  • Structured face-to-face ADOS-2 observation at our Kelvedon clinic, conducted by two clinicians
  • In-depth parental interview including developmental history, using the ADI-R. Delivered on the same day at our clinic (same-day pathway) or online at a separate time via secure video call (split pathway) — whichever suits your family best
  • Liaison with teaching staff for child assessment, including potential for school/nursery observations
  • Review of available professional reports
  • Multi-disciplinary clinical discussion to discuss comorbidity and differential diagnosis
  • A highly detailed person-centred report containing informed and useful recommendations to support children and adults to achieve their full potential towards achieving well-being and success
  • Timely assessment and informed of outcome within 24 hours
  • Feedback meeting with you, and young person, to go through report and recommendations
  • Two assessment pathways are available for children and young people. Both use the same Gold Standard tools and include a full MDT discussion. The difference is simply whether the parent interview takes place on the same day in clinic, or online at a later date

    Compare our two pathways

Our assessments are thorough, person-centred and robust. We use the best available tools — ADOS-2 and ADI-R, as recommended by NICE guidelines — and children will always be assessed by more than one clinician.

The fee for a diagnostic assessment for a child is £2,150
